Oh thank you sweet Jesus for getting us to summer! I love lazy hot days at home with Jack and Cassie. We may run a sprinkler, fill up the little play pool, or head to our latest craze, The Yogurt Spot. We took a little family vacation the week after Memorial Day to Schlitterbahn in New Braunfels. It was glorious! The public schools were not yet out so there were no lines or just short ones. Jack is now old and brave enough to ride all the rides and Cassie LOVED the lazy river and splash pools.
On a sad note my dear Aunt Debbie passed away this week in Amarillo. She battled cancer for years and is, I believe, so relieved to be rid of her poor diseased clay vessel. Thank you God for giving us Debbie, and for giving Debbie peace.
And lastly, Happy Anniversary! Mike and I made it to 12 years. We've had lots more good than bad. I am still so head-over-heels for him.
I started this blog as a way to update (and let's me honest, vent) during the long and trying process to adopt our Cassie from Mexico. Now we live on an island called Batam in Indonesia. So the Daughter Journey has shifted from what it took to get Cassie home to what it's going to take to survive as a family of four Texans in Asia. Here Mike works six days a week, ten hour days. So it's up to me, and I've never been less prepared for anything. But I'm game!
