I found this old little clip of Jack duckpin bowling during our wonderful Frederick time. He was only 4! And in three weeks he'll be 8. I love his parting signal...
I started this blog as a way to update (and let's me honest, vent) during the long and trying process to adopt our Cassie from Mexico. Now we live on an island called Batam in Indonesia. So the Daughter Journey has shifted from what it took to get Cassie home to what it's going to take to survive as a family of four Texans in Asia. Here Mike works six days a week, ten hour days. So it's up to me, and I've never been less prepared for anything. But I'm game!

Another large step
...that is almost meaningless.
Our case has been approved by the judge in Mexico City. We will learn when we travel sometime over the next two weeks. I'm not really looking forward to going, the trip was SO hard on me last time.
Of course this time I am taking some serious mood medicine and i'll be packing my nausea medicine and my zanax. I sound like I'm going to end up on Oprah but seriously this is all I need to get through those weeks down there. Honestly, like Scarlett, I just try not to think about it, I just try to focus on life back here once we get home.
I got hired again! We only have one-yr contracts at the school, so this is good news. Cassandra also got into the daycare we wanted. That is WONDERFUL news, but I have to start paying for it now. It's a chunk, but not compared to what some dear friends have to pay.
We are not done with her nursery. I need to, but sometimes being in her room is more than I can bare. The basics are there, we'll be fine to get started. I'm just really sad and ready to get her here.
Enough! I'm so over my sad crap! Aaaarg!
